Your Safety

Here at Trilogy our goal is to make your Trilogy Adventure in Paradise both educational and entertaining. But above all, we are committed to making your day with us the safest day of your vacation!
To achieve this we have a number of policies and procedures that you should know about. Plus there are a few facts that make us unique in this business.
All our vessels are USCG certified and ocean tested sailing catamarans that we designed and/or built ourselves specifically with you in mind. Your safety and comfort were critical considerations in the design and building process.
From entry level deckhands to senior captains, our crew are required to earn and maintain certification in CPR, First Responder, DE-fib Tech, Ocean Safety Skills, as well as participate in our year-round Sailing Skills Workshops.
Every snorkel tour or snuba dive is under the personal supervision of one or more ocean safety specialists. Every swimmer or diver is required to wear a BCD (buoyancy compensator device) regardless of ability. If you are a snuba diver using a BCD goes without saying, but some swimmers think this somehow limits their mobility—the truth is just the opposite happens. The BCD can be worn un-inflated or partially inflated and in most cases guests find that the BCD helps keep them afloat and warm at the same time!
We employ a 'spotter' system during all our snorkel tours. Besides your snorkel/reef guide we have a crew on a large Hawai‘ian style paddle board keeping an eye on everyone.
All trips offer partial wet suits for swimmers and divers. This provides both safety and comfort. And yes, the water can get a bit chilly here in the winter.
Every vessel, as well as all our land based operations, carry emergency oxygen as well as state of the art de-fib kits. Our personnel are trained in the use of both.
Every vessel carries a supply of bee sting, jelly fish sting, and coral cut medication in the unlikely event that you come into close contact with any of these.
All vessels carry slicker gear for each passenger in the event that the wind and seas kick up during a passage. If you can keep dry here in the tropics you will usually stay warm and comfortable as well.
Our captains and crew provide detailed safety briefings throughout the day on an "as need" basis and personally assist passengers moving about the boat when conditions warrant.
And, yes, occasionally a guest will be overcome by the 'ocean experience' and need to 'feed the fish' as we say. Your Trilogy crew knows all about 'fish feeding' and will often sense your discomfort before you do! They will be there to move you to the safest and most protected part of the boat until you are feeling better.
Finally, after over 35 years of providing ocean adventures for visitors of all ages, and all sizes, and from almost every country in the world, we are convinced that your day with Trilogy will be the safest day of your vacation!
